News & Round 3 Results

Last weekend’s results mostly didn’t go our way, but there’s always the next round. The weather forecast looks good for the whole weekend, with mild temperatures and only a slim chance of rain, so it looks like we’re set for a full round of games at Alexandria Park.

On Saturday our Championship First Grade and Reserve Grade have their first home games of the season, hosting Glebe Wanderers. It all kicks off at 1pm, and we’ll have the canteen open and the BBQ cranking.

All-Age action continues on Sunday, starting at 9am with the AA6 team taking on Waverley, followed by the AA5a’s v UNSW at 11am – can they bounce back after the feisty AA5 derby last weekend? (where the AA5b’s secured bragging rights for the next few months)

The AAW3 team are looking for their first win of the season, taking on Heffron at 1pm. The day’s games will be rounded off by the second of the Loko Derbys this season, with our two AA8 squads facing off at 3pm. They are only separated by a point in a very congested table, so its a must-win for both teams!

And after all that park football, there’s no better way to wind down the weekend than a refreshing ale or four at the Iron Duke Hotel (where I’m sure you’ll find a fair few of the AA8 players from about 5pm…)

Alexandria Park Canteen

It was a bumper weekend at Alexandria Park last round, with lots of players sticking around to enjoy the BBQ and canteen and cheer on the other Loko games.

We have some new additions to the canteen this year:

  • Along with the usual BBQ fare of snags and onions we will also have bacon & eggs if you are up for a post game breakfast.
  • The snacks section of the canteen now includes healthier options such as muesli bars, alongside the usual Killer Pythons, Mars bars, Snickers and chips (or crisps if you will)
  • Drinks wise, we still have the standard sports drinks, soft drinks and water, with the new addition of Ice Tea, as well as Berocca Twist & Go (for those occasions when you’ve indulged a little too much the night before game day).

We’ll have the canteen manned for all games both Saturday and Sunday to keep you well-fed and watered.
